Stories that Inspire
It was quite a journey during the COVID-19 pandemic. My team and I faced many hurdles during this time, which were dynamic and challenging to navigate. Creating awareness about COVID-19 and its vaccination among families and community members during this period was quite hard. The Hum Honge Kamyab Team jumped in to support us with the same during this time. Ashima and the team helped us with digital resources to create awareness about COVID -19, how to take care of health and hygiene, the importance of vaccination & break the myths around it, and support families to book their slots to get the vaccination for them. The support provided by the HHK team was highly impactful. The collaboration enabled us to vaccinate over 400+ people from the community before school reopened.

My journey started with HHK in June 2021 when I saw a post from Avani on LinkedIn about their mission to spread awareness to the under-privileged community about Covid vaccination, registering on the CoWin app and finally getting their vaccination done. What I liked about HHK was their intent and professional approach – Firstly, they didn’t want money. They needed the help of volunteers who can educate people from the comfort of their homes. Secondly, right from the start, they organized online training and mock drills for us and provided us with educational materials in English and Hindi which we can use to communicate. The exact step-by-step process on how to talk, what to talk, how to resolve queries, how to escalate etc. made it easy for me to communicate with the 50 under-privileged families in Delhi I was allotted. We also had Google sheets to update status and scheduled calls/ WhatsApp chats to resolve queries. My learnings over 4 months – most people don’t know how to get registered on CoWin (a lot of people don’t even have a smartphone!), some don’t want to get vaccinated because of all the confusion created my social media and in most cases; woman took up the charge in getting vaccination done for the entire family. It is heartening to see young lawyers like Avani and Ashima take up a social cause, something which most of us want to do after we retire. My best wishes to them.

Bucket List collaborated with #HHK in the FY 2021-22 for working on the health and safety against covid-19 in one of our communities. We planned to reach out to our stakeholders in the Khandsa community, Gurugram, Haryana to spread awareness about the myths, and to bridge the gap between the residents of the community and accessibility of the vaccines. It was made possible for our combined teams to execute this plan due to the constant effort of the #HHK team and their well-maintained communication. From the digital training to physically stepping into the community for finding more beneficiaries at the last moment to executing the logistics, everything was taken care of immensely well by the team. It felt refreshing to work with an organisation fueled by passion and a clear aim towards a common goal. Bucket List had a wonderful experience with this collaboration, and we would love to work on potential future projects with #HHK if the opportunity presents itself. Also, we hope that the team's positive spirit always stays contagious!

“Through knowledge we shall conquer disease.” This is the motto of Topiwala National Medical College and BYL Nair Charitable Hospital. The necessity of dispersing accurate medical information and advice was highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the partnership with HumHongeKaamayaab (HHK), I was part of the effort to create and spread awareness about COVID-19 vaccination amongst members of the society. Through the month-long collaboration with Ashima and her team, we connected across the digital platform with the volunteers working in the field, equipping them with medically accurate information to allay the fears of the general public regarding vaccination. HHK successfully incorporated the appropriate use of technology in connecting the medical experts in the city with the volunteers in the interiors of multiple states across the country. It was a pleasure working with HHK for this cause.
